Due to 4th of July ending up on a Sunday most people have moved their celebrations to Saturday, therefore we will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Anyone that attends the Invite sparring sessions please email me if you are interested in sparring Monday night. If we have enough people Professor Muller will have a sparring session and an open mat on Monday night. All of us from Gracie Barra Long Island would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. We will be starting a Wrestling class on Thursday July 15th, 2010 at 6-7pm.  It will be held in New Hyde Park every Thursday at 6pm with our own Adam Deoliveira.  He has wrestled all of his life and is willing to share everything that he has learned with our students.  Due to an illness Adam will not be able to start until July 15th.  We are very sorry for the delay but will we see you on the mat soon.

The Commack Academy night classes will be canceled on Friday June 25th, 2010 but our day class will still be on.  One of our students Shin Fukuda is moving back to Japan and will be holding a special farewell class at 7pm at New Hyde Park.  All students from both Academies are invited but please email Professor Muller if you plan on going to eat after the class.  Sorry for any inconvenience and we will see you on the mat soon.

If you have not heard already Shin Fukuda will be returning to Japan at the end of June. Shin was such a huge part of our team we would like to throw a going away training and dinner party. On Friday June 25th, we will be conducting a special class just for Shin. As per his request he would like to train with his teammates one last time before he leaves. We will be having a class at 7pm on Friday and then we will be headed to Sushi Palace in Great Neck to bid him farewell. We ask all students who wish to attend the dinner to please email Professor Muller at Tom@graciebarralongisland.com to confirm your seat. We put this together rather quick so if you could respond by Wednesday that would make this party much smoother. Thanks and we will see you on the mat Friday!
