We had two new blue belts added to the Academy this week. The first promotion was awarded to Carlos Devalle. He has worked very hard and made a number of sacrifices to put in the time necessary to deserve this belt. The next promotion to blue belt was Jeff Skubic. Jeff is currently in medical school and working towards his goal of being a doctor. He is also conducting a research study on Martial Arts injuries. This survey is part of his Med School work so we urge all students to support Jeff by taking some time out to fill out the surveys located on the front desks at both Academies. Congrats to our new blue belts and we will see you on the mat soon.

Congratulations to John Manis and his family on the birth of a healthy baby girl. She was born at 4:10pm on 3/8/10 and weighed in at 7lbs. John was one of our first students from the old College Point location John Manis and we would like to congratulate and welcome this new member to our family.

To All of the Gracie Barra Long Island Family Members …… Do to a recent Injury, Hermes Franca has pulled out of the SuperFight Between Him and Professor Joe. Long Island Pride has Postponed the match untill June. Professor Joe would like to thank everyone who trained with him , and also everyone who were coming down to support him at Long Island Pride.
