Tournament Results from this Weekend!

We had a very busy weekend with our students competing in the NAGA tournament  in Newark and the New Jersey Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s (NJBJJF) Fall Championships in Bayville, N.J.. Starting with the NAGA tournament, Jessica Richer took 1st in the Women’s No-Gi Expert LHW division. Then we had Mat “pnut” Maldonado, who competed in two divisions, place 2nd in the No-Gi Expert Flyweight division.  His match in the finals was so close overtime was needed to decide the winner. He also placed 3rd in the Men’s Flyweight Blue Belt division loosing a very controversial match in the semi-finals. Going on the same day down in southern New Jersey was the New Jersey Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s Fall Championships. In the Men’s Purple Belt division we had Chris Mendoza taking 1st place with two submissions. Next we had Melvin Sanchez take 1st in the Men’s White Belt Ultra-Heavyweight division and 1st in the Men’s White Belt Absolute division. Finally, we had Daniel Caceres competing in his first tournament taking 1st in his White Belt division. Congratulation to everyone that competed and we will see you on the mat soon.
