Professor Joe, Tom and All Gracie Barra Family members would like to wish Coach Chris “Shady” Mendoza a Very Special Happy Birthday!!!!! Coach Chris turned 31 today. Coach Chris is one of our Fundamentals Instructors at our New Hyde Park Academy. We wish him the best and we”ll see him on the mat soon.

This Thursday (9/2/10) at 6pm we start our Striking Class in the Commack Academy. It will be conducted by Professor Muller who has extensive experience in the Striking Arts as well as being a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. He has sparred and trained with many UFC and Professional MMA fighters so has a wealth of knowledge that he would love to share will his students. All students are required to have 16oz Boxing or Thai-Style Gloves, hand wraps, cup and mouth piece to attend the class. If you do not have the proper equipment please see either Professor Muller or Coach Dave and they will order you all the equipment that is required. Thanks and hope to see you on the mat soon!

Due to the Labor Day Weekend Holiday we have some scheduling changes. The New Hyde Park Academy will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Commack Academy will be open Saturday for the Kids Class and there will be an open mat from 11am-1pm and Monday all classes are canceled. Thanks and enjoy your weekend holiday!

Professor Joe, and Tom would like to thank everyone who came down to our 1st Annual BBQ/Softball event. We would also like to thank everyone who help out with the cooking, setting up, and contributing (food, drinks, plates, cups, etc.) to the BBQ.
